Bah! Some people just have little taste...

There is no lingerie in space…

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Oh come on everybody likes the beatles!

Acording to a deleted scene in Pulp Fiction, there are "Beatles people", and "Elvis people". I'm more of a Beatles person, I think they are musically superior, and I'm more into that kind of music, pre-progressive late 60s psychedelia, although I do like Elvis versions to "Viva Las Vegas", "Love me Tender", "My Way", "Can't Help Falling in Love", and "A little less conversation - remix"
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Been one for nearly nine months myself, and it's really not as hard as it seems to be. I never feel like I'm missing anything anymore. They have a wide selection of substitutes anyway that range from nearly as good, just as good, and much better than the actual meat product it's based on.

And that's awesome that you are too, YIYF. I had no idea. What's the stigma toward vegetarians over in the UK? Because being one in the southern US isn't a very popular thing.

Well I live in London, which as you know is a major city full of various 'wierdoes', so being vegetarian is nothing. I still get some funny looks from time to time but it's cool. I've travelled all over the states though and unless you're on the west coast or parts of the East coast, you're in trouble. Don't even mention being a vegetarian in North Dakota!! In fact, don't even go to North Dakota (vegetarian or not).

I used to think there was no way I could ever live without meat and I even used to be one of the people who looked at the veggies starngely, but now it's no trouble at all and I actually find meat kinda repulsive. I do still crave the odd burger or Bacon sandwich from time to time, but I resist and it's fine. My grandmother thinks I'm mad though and is always trying to make me a steak.

What are you guyes favorite Beatles songs? and albums.

NONE, most over rated music ever.

Dude, whatever music you ARE a fan of, be it metal, rap, techno or whatever, you have the Beatles to thank in some way in the same way modern cinema has Fritz lang, Ray Harryhausen or George Lucas to thank. Don't be one of those fools who totally dismisses the Beatles out of hand.

By the way, if you can't name a single Beatles song you like, what kind of music are you into, what kind of music are you into? (I'm not trying to be a dick, just asking).

Mostly 70's, 80's hard/heavy rock, the harder 60's kinks stuff (the true pioneers of hard rock) and popular classic stuff like Holst, Elgar, Wagner etc.

As for the Beatles the mersey beat had been an ongoing underground thing 2 or 3 years before they hit the big time. It was going to happen that one of these bands would be big (prime example is the Sexpistols in the 70's, not the best but the first to be sold to the british public) the beatles were just lucky to be picked first.

But it's what they done AFTER they made it big that has cemented their place in music history. Their early stuff was throwaway, but they moved on while other bands didn't and pretty much shaped modern music. They tried things noone had tried, and sometimes failed, but they definitely pushed the barriers. You can always argue that somebody else would have done it, just like you can argue that if star wars didn't exist it would be something else, but we don't live in an alternate dimension so that reasoning doesn't fly. I play guitar and write songs, and the Beatles' structures and changes are amazingly inventive. We'll have to agree to disagree.
