I’ve found delays have been happening on Google Drive for popular files. Then there’s also this:

Google Drive already follows most of those practices and typically only responds to things that are flagged or receive a direct DMCA takedown from the rightful IP holder. Even if it does use a more crude content ID like system to scan a video, an edited film would likely not trigger that.
I would assume not much will change unless people are deliberately flagging these files (and even then, Hal isn’t the owner of the drive he’s using, so there are other ways to deal with the problem).
This is also why torrents exist for projects like these. They can take longer to set up and be more difficult for a community to maintain, but they exist that way for a reason.
Once this edit is in the hand of the right people, the internet never forgets. Don’t worry.
