I have Star Wars Episode 3 Full Screen Version DVD - is it cropped?

I have been debating whether or not to purchase Star Wars Episode 3 Wide Screen DVD version because I heard that the full screen is cropped and stuff is missing from full screen releases. Is this true? I already have all 11 Star Wars movies in digital HD in wide screen anyway. Should I forget spending money on a wide screen version and just be content with the full screen version of disc 2? I notice the theatrical trailers on disc 2 are presented in wide screen.

Yes it is cropped, although it’s actually competently done, and having been shot digitally, less obvious than a pan and scanned 35mm widescreen film. (I have the full screen prequel discs merely as a curio in my collection.) Disc 2 is exactly the same for both versions.

I have it too, I also have the AOTC full-screen, I know for a fact I’m upgrading them to Blu-Ray ASAP.

I’m not really that much of a movie purist. I really should’ve thought my name out a bit more.
