Well, with the OT I did as little as possible in hopes of getting the Special Editions closer in spirit to their O-OT equivalent. I never found the Ewoks so objectionable as many do. Would a Wookiee battle have been better? Absolutely. Would I accept Lucas digitally replacing all the Ewoks with Wookiees? Probably, so long as I get the O-OT as well. But none of the Ewoks make me cringe and take me out of the story like the Leia/Luke smooch in ESB does. Thus, that is the only O-OT element I removed from the entire trilogy. Everything else that was done was to restore certain O-OT elements back into the SE.

As one who saw all three films on screen in their first runs (not to mention countless nights in college going to trilogy parties long before the SE), the O-OT still means more to me than the Special Editions. Therefore I'm eagerly awaiting the results of the X0 project to give me back the SW as I know it truly to be. But for now, if the SE's are what we have (in good DVD quality, anyway), then I was merely concerned with righting the wrongs I saw from 1997 and 2004. The Han/Greedo thing in ANH and the Hayden/Shaw thing in ROTJ were the most ham-handed character betrayals. Lapti Nek was a character in itself for me because of my old ties to that song (playing it at every Friday night game for five years will endear you to a song). Fett's voice was a character in itself. And one with a very worn out first edition paperback of Star Wars, Biggs and Jabba were characters too, so I was quite glad to see their scenes back in.

Back when ROTJ was out, we were all saying "I want my MTV." Now we're all saying "I want my O-OT."
