- Yes, I've heard of this but have not had it happen myself BUT I've had this happen in the past during beta software. NOW I know that when this has happened in the past the honest reason was that TiVo Suggestions and all TiVo recordings are kept on the HD for a set amount of time OR if a new recording has a hight priority then recorded shows NOW back in the tivo would start to delete shows as the HD filled up; suggestions first then recorded shows - some of the first software versions would auto delete shows in 7 days in order to make room for more recordings.

I believe the official line from the company was that they were testing this technology but have no intentions of deploying it. Pretty much the people who were targeted believe that it's the first steps in copyright holders protecting themselves by not allowing someone to retain copies for an extended period of time.
BUT
I also know that TiVo has been against the wall for some time and the MPAA is not gonna back down SO this MAY very well be a sign...
