It is very odd to me. I mean, I prefer the lower contrast and more subdued colors compared to the over-saturated mess we had since 04, but it just seems like a rather abrupt reversal of what George apparently wanted the films to look like. The fact that the planned 3D versions went back to the 1997 masters rather than just using the Lowry remasters again suggests that they knew what they had used in 2004 and 2011 was subpar.
