Good Editing Software?

I've been working on filming a movie for a while, and now it's come down to the task of editing. What editing software would you guys recommend? Since there's all kinds of fan editors on this site, I figured this would be a good place to go.

Vegas is my favorite. I'm always learning cool things to do with it. You can get a 30-day demo.

avid had a free dv demo that allows you to edit. I don't know if it allows outputing the finished product though.
avid express dv is a good 500 buck program that give you good results. premiere is okay, it can be buggy every once in a while. If you've got a mac, go for final cut express HD. great program!

I just started working with Adobe Premiere Elements, not sure how I like it yet.

NANNER, ONCE I GET MY SOUNDTRACK SAMPLE TO YOU I'LL NEED A FINISHED "FILM" TO DO THE SCORE. WHAT I'LL DO IS RECORD THE MUSIC WHILE WATCHING THE FILM. I'LL PUT THE MUSIC ON CD, AND SEND BOTH THE MOVIE AND SCORE BACK TO YOU. IT'LL BE UP TO YOU TO PUT THEM TOGETHER. IF I CAN GET AHOLD OF ONE OF MY FRIENDS I MAY BE ABLE TO ADD THE SCORE TO IT MYSELF FOR YOU. WE'LL JUST HAVE TO PLAY IT BY EAR.

Have any of you used Pinnacle Liquid? If so, what did you think of it?
