As for the next Covers Torrent

I should be uploading it within the next 2-3 weeks - I would like to add that if you would like to submit a cover for the collection please email them to BLAKSVN (at) GMAIL.COM with your information (so I can credit you).

CUSTOM COVER SUGGESTED GUIDELINES
These are not necessary but do make it easier to print the proper size cover and for you to receive proper credit.

SUGGESTED COVER SIZES @ 300 DPI

I’ve found these three sizes to be the most common sizes used by designers – DO NOT use 150 DPI as it is really not up to high quality printing.

Single case: 3240 x 2188 pixels or 10.8 x 7.293 inches (Meritline and most other $30 for 100 cases)

Or

Single case: 3240 x 2175 pixels or 10.75 x 7.1 inches (Amaray and Next Pax)

Or

Single case: 3225 x 2130 pixels or 10.75 x 7.1 inches (Maxell cases)

SUGGESTED FILE FORMATS

JPEG is the most common as it offers great quality and a manageable file size (1.5 – 5 MB each) but TIFF is another acceptable format as it offer the best resolution and color management but the file size is not really dial-up friendly (10-30MB each)

SUGGESTED NAMING FORMAT

IF possible when submitting a cover please try to name your covers something like what is shown below, this is in order to ensure that you do receive proper credit for your works. Also try to pack all the covers into a Folder named in a similar fashion the either ZIP or RAR the files (with the best compression set).

MONITOR SETTINGS FOR BEST COLORS

1. First adjust your monitor
a. Set your monitor's color temperature (white point) to 6500K
b. Set your monitor's brightness control (SO misleading - this is really your black level )
c. Set up your viewing light (do not have lights pointed directly on your monitor and avoid reflections from rear lights)

2. Now, go adjust your television also

Keep up the work gang and I look forward to all your covers being added to the Covers Collection for the FALL Covers torrent!

P.S. Use this link to get your monitor adjusted - FIRST get a drink and snack and read away!!

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Er...that...thing looks like it's been sitting in the sun or something. The colours are horrid.

Also, you pretty much already made the label. Put it into your favourite program and print it out...not really rocket science.

Thanks! I am a Graphic Designer. I set up art for bakery, and retail boxes around the US.... most of it has no creativity behind it, so stuff like this keeps my brain goo flowing!

catofong - Your Black colors/shades are still screwy - have you adjusted your monitor yet?

@ Cato - I applaud your continued efforts at getting your hard work out there. Here's a couple of things I noticed that hopefully will help you to continually improve your skills:

1) Like Rixter said, try adjusting your monitor so that the black levels are even. Some of the cut & paste things show through and
really stand out.
2) The fonts and colours are a little bit off. Try looking at others and see what they've done.
3) You've used the widescreen logo from the Definitive Edition, but the back credits state it is a Fullscreen version - that's just one
of those "proofreading" things.
4) The back pictures aren't all that dynamic, and the cropping on the second one cuts people's heads off.

Good effort, keep it up and I'm sure we'll see great things from you.

Cheers.

In regards to Cassidy's #3: if you look closely, Cato's back cover says Fullscreen with 4:3 underneath it, and then to the right, it has 2.35:1... twice. Seems a bit contradictory to me.

@cato: Maybe I'm a bit lazy, but I hate having to scroll right to see the whole picture. It'd be nice if you'd post smaller files. (I currently have my monitor set to 1024x768, best resolution on my monitor.) Thanks.
