I have to agree, although I'd go further to say that post-Megadrive, Sega was the most underrated console company in the biz. Sony were businessmen, and I still respect Nintendo as games-makers, but Sega never got consumer support for innovative games. I own a Megadrive, Saturn and a Dreamcast - and I thought that the last two were SUPREMELY overrated. The Saturn had some of the best games I've ever played EVER, and I could get them all for $20 Australian no probs. The Dreamcast had an awesome line-up of games - I honestly believe it failed because of a general bias towards the 'Playstation' brand name. In fact, I think the Saturn could have beaten the PSX if it had only been advertised. The general consensus over here was that it was just 'crap'. End of story. Whenever I asked someone to tell me why, they could never tell me, because they never played it - they just said something about it not being on TV or not being as popular...
