Yeah, I looked it up and was ‘somewhat’ relieved to find they don’t grow much bigger than 6 inches / 15cms (that is including the leg span).
As a defensive mechanism it can use its venom to kill other mammals - and can also be deadly to humans too, if attacked. The venom, according to the link below, also has medicinal uses (sounds a like a Spiderman origin story to me!)
