...GAAAAAHHHH!! My eyes are bleeding!! BLASPHEMY!! DOUBLE BLASPHEMY!!
The Atari was a CLASSIC console! Although I prefered the Intellevision.
The 3DO was an AWESOME console, and a great idea too: make an open format and allow other manufacturers to have one... The Panasonic was the best one! It had a great graphic engine for that time, a great video compression, and great games, why, it had a high-res version of Night Trap! The award winning "Twister"! The first versions of FIFA Soccer and Need for Speed were released for the 3DO! It had the best version of "The Incredible Machine"! It had good versions of Street Fighter Turbo! It had a brilliant way to allow 8 controllers into one console (the second controller was connected on the first one, and so on, up to 8).
I still remember when I first played the Neo Geo, in a sunny saturday afteroon in 1992, with a friend of mine, at a video store that allowed you to play consoles for a few bucks an hour. We had those huuge controllers on our small, 10 year old kids laps, and played Art of Fighting... I was in awe, playing that cool 32 bit console for the first time...
(*sigh* it's about 75% of what I've written previously...)
I always thought 3DO had some AWESOME games in the arcade. I never knew they made a console, but I'm sure it was good, based on what I knew of them.
