I had this in my hand today, and put it back down. What scene is this?

Brundlefly does an experiment to see if he can fuse a baboon and a cat together by using the three pod set up. This would forshadow the ending where he tries to fuse himself with Veronica and the baby. The scenario works out about how you can imagine, with the monkey and cat fusing in a horrifying way and Brundlefly is forced to bash the animal to death with a pipe. He then climbs up the wall and outside to the roof where he looks out over the city and seems to be going even more mad. He falls over the side of the building and when he comes to rest, a fly leg begins to work its way out of his rib cage (remember when he lifts up his shirt when Veronica comes to visit and says, "Look at this. What's this? I don't know?"). He then proceeds to rip and bite the little arm off, tossing it to the ground. The scene includes an unseen phase of the Brundlefly make up.

I was really happy with the quality of the scene on the DVD. Between the deleted scenes themselves and those included in the 3 hour documentary, I think I might go ahead with this as my first fan edit. I of course will be leaving out the "Butterfly Baby" alternate ending. Though I will probably include the ending with Veronica waking up in bed alone. I actually liked this as it sets up THE FLY II nicely. I really love this film and am looking forward to giving it a go as an extended edition.
