I just thought these days that one of the ways to make the return of Palpatine more palatable is to transform him in a sith ghost. You guys think this is a good idea? Maybe this could made his goal to possess Rey more clear, in the end. I just don’t know if putting the red silhouette around Palpatine would be difficult to implement, as well making his collors more lighter.

The idea itself is sound and I think it could be cool though there are two problems. For the most part, Star Wars sticks to rules George Lucas set in place for the Sith which mainly are that while Jedi can become Force Ghosts because of their nature as peacekeepers and that they’re fine joining the Cosmic Force, Sith are all about preserving their lives as long as possible and don’t really become Ghosts. They have spirits on occasion but those spirits are tied to a single place if I remember correctly. Another problem that arises is that if I got this right, it would require masking out Palpatine in every shot he’s in to apply the effect, keeping in mind he still speaks to people through hologram and more. Personally even if it’s not optimal, I think it’s better to keep Palpatine in this movie as-is, the vats of Palpatine clones in the edit are more than enough to explain what’s going on and I wouldn’t want to create more tedious headaches than there already is for the fan-editors.
