In 1998, Mickey Mouse Works was a project that Walt Disney Television really wanted to get everyone’s attention on at the time. A marketing move that Disney made for it, was to release four already completed shorts in theaters to try and get the show’s attention and audience before it released in May 1999. The cartoons included:

  • Goofy’s Extreme Sports: Skating the Half Pipe (I’ll Be Home for Christmas)
  • Goofy’s Extreme Sports: Paracycling (Mighty Joe Young)
  • Pluto Gets the Paper: Spaceship (My Favorite Martian)
  • Donald’s Dynamite: Opera Box (Doug’s 1st Movie)

As of 2021, the original theatrical edits are not available online. As such, we need your help & info on what the original edits were like back then! If you’ve seen the four movies highlighted in bold text theatrically, and remember the shorts being played beforehand, please put out your available info on what edits they might’ve put, and maybe if it had a special intro. IDK. It’s a very confusing loophole of a project that I’m doing. Hoping I can create edits of the theatrically edited shorts online on OT eventually, but we’ll just have to wait & see…

UPDATE: One of the shorts, “Paracycling”, has recently resurfaced online through a bootleg recording of “Mighty Joe Young”. This is the only one that has surfaced, as of 06-08-2022.
