I’ve just had another idea that I want to try, watching it back. There’s a huge gap between “I” and “am a Jedi,” and by the time it gets to “am a Jedi” my brain has sort of lost the priming to hear it as flowing on from “I”, which makes it easier to hear as “I’m a Jedi” to make sense of it. I want to try and bridge that gap by taking the “am” and placing it over one of her big pants of exertion, so it goes “I”… “am”… “a Jedi” instead. This would also mean the slight hum on “am” is hidden by the theatrical soundscape. It just depends on a) the lip sync (but I’ve found you can get away with a surprising amount when it comes to lip sync looking right), and b) how it actually sounds in practice.
Hopefully I can try it out sometime over the weekend.
