One of the other motivations behind using that particular shot is that we don’t spend much time in space at all, but this way, the few shots we have all tell a clear narrative:

Retreat
Regroup at medical station / receive new orders
Arrival of Ahsoka with the fleet
Fleet returns to Christophsis
(a nice bonus of this scene is that in it, Yoda explains ‘we have more ships, so we’ll probably win this fight’, which goes some way to justifying skipping the fight and just showing the later victory)

I think I agree with vranir, though, that we require a fifth ‘fleet’ shot

Fleet engages in combat with Separatists
(before we hear of their victory and they effectively rejoin the ground action)
