Help: Looking For... Lord of the Rings HDTV Rips

In 2011, the extended versions of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy was released on Blu-ray. I was pretty hyped, as I consider them to be some of the greatest films ever made. I was disappointed however, when all of the films, especially Fellowship of the Ring, had a blanket blue tint put over the entirety of the film. The Two Towers and Return of the King still had these issues, but they weren’t as bad as the first film. I would like to acquire HDTV or even 35mm prints as those have more accurate color timing. Any help would be appreciated.

The Fellowship EE blu-ray has a blanket green tint on it, not blue. Yes, it looks bad. It’s also very dark.
The old theatrical version blu-ray (not the 4k) has the most accurate colors but suffers from some rather poor image processing choices in many of the film’s scenes.
Also I might have heard that the HDTV has its own blanket tint issues.
A 35mm scan would be wonderful indeed.

Oh definitely. Plus we’d be able to see the car that they painted out of the background for all home video releases 😃

It’s really either way with the car removal for me. I’m glad they removed it but then again we should preserve the original versions and I have to admit the car in the background kind of added some extra charm to the scene.
