I'm thinking about getting an iMac for my kids for Christmas this year. Does anyone know if the wireless card that comes with it will work only with Airport? Or will it work with any 802.11g compliant wireless router? Also, do I need any special software add-ons in order to burn DVDs with the Super-Drive? Or is that native to the OS? I'm a Windows person, so I'm not sure about some of this stuff...Thanks for any info.

the airport card will work with any wireless router. and the airport works with any wireless card. its all interchangable.

If you plan on burning dvds, then best program out there is Toast, but most can work through iDVD. there are also a couple free and inexpensive shareware that does the job as well. check out VersionTracker.com. hope that helps.

only thing I can add to that is that idvd only does dvd-r's and dvd-rw's. That is of course with an internal burner. An external burner may be able to do dvd+r's but it won't be able to do anything else. It's weird I know. Toast is the best software consumer-wise that I've used for my mac. The only thing I don't like about it is that you can't create dvd menus for your disks. This is a feature that I like about idvd. Now if you were to get DVD Studio Pro, which is about 400 bucks, you wouldn't have to deal with any of that stuff.
