There’s something really cheeky about putting this in this thread, but I can’t put it into words. I was gonna say that it was super ballsy to call it baffling when, even if you disagree with them, there are pretty reasonable criticisms of Rey Palpatine. But that’s a little subjective, isn’t it?
Maybe it has to do with the quality of the argument in favor. Because you literally say “Sure, Rey has gotten over her parents by the end of TLJ, but she didn’t get over her grandparents” in the thread you linked.
Of course, Rey comes to terms with the truth in TLJ and stops caring about her parents, but just because she stopped caring about them doesn’t indicate as to whether she cares about her grandparents or not.
