- That said, I’m totally pro Clone-Palpatine. The real one died at the end of VI. The clone was created by him as a safety blanket (stashed secreatly on Exegol, treasured and then activated by the cultists).
Reaching back a bit for this but it syncs up with something I was just thinking about as I read this thread.
I never really had a problem with TROS Palpatine being a clone because I thought that meant it was basically a blank body with the real Palpatine’s soul (for lack of a better term) in it after it escaped destruction on the DSII in ROTJ. I figured that’s what the huge explosion/ghost smoke-wind stuff was. And so while he or his followers could keep making clone bodies for him, if you kill him before he has a chance or the strength to eject his soul, then he dies for real.
So if you can work that idea into a crawl somewhere or a ROTJ scene flash in the Kylo/Palp chat on Exegol, that might help sell the Palpa-clone idea a little more.
