Hm. Good point. Eitherway, I'm most certain the knew after it was discovered, and they still lied about it. But you're right. If it was just the work of a programmer and the company didn't know about it, then *he* or she should take the blame. And never work in the gaming industry again.

Gaming will never bee mainstream as movies as long as stuff like this happens.

The Hot Coffee stuff for GTA:SA was actual coding in the game. But when he went after The Sims 2, he made a remark that EA should be held responsible for the mods that independent hackers make. The guy is completely retarded.

C3PX said: Gaffer is like that hot girl in high school that you think you have a chance with even though she is way out of your league because she is sweet and not a stuck up bitch who pretends you don’t exist… then one day you spot her making out with some skinny twerp, only on second glance you realize it is the goth girl who always sits in the back of class; at that moment it dawns on you why she is never seen hanging off the arm of any of the jocks… and you realize, damn, she really is unobtainable after all. Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Fact: To attain the sex minigame, one has to make a conscious decision to download the mod.

Fact: The same is true of the Sims 2 smut games.

Fact: Neither game is intended for young children.

That's the thing about the anti-vidoegame croud. They ignore the facts and go with random speculation or false impressions. And it's parents' job, not the governments, to regulate their children's gaming.

and there in lies the problem. most parents (make sure you read that i said most, not all) dont bother to research the games they buy their kids. they even ignore the rating level put on the game, but then when their kid 'mimics' the game (not that im saying video games cause violence, if someone goes on a killing spree after playing gta they were obviously in need of help before hand and i dont think not playing gta would have prevented it) or the parents find out about the 'inappropriateness' (its only inappropriate for the ages its not intended for, so it should be a non issue if parents paid attention) of the game then they scream to high heaven and go off and blame the video game company or the movies or whatever else is the current 'in scapegoat' so they can avoid the truth that maybe they are just bad parents and should pay more attention to what their children do or just not have children because they cant handle them and use video games and such as a 'babysitter'

basically i agree with chaltab's statement about the anti-video game crowd ignoring the facts.

It still isn't the job of the government to regulate what people see and don't see. That doesn't exactly yield good results if taken too far. That is why I would never support government regulation of things like that.
