For all of them, I just recently added the new THX logo to the beginning, because I think it looks awesome, and I think it adds a fancier feel to the edits as a whole.
In AOTC, after the explosion on the landing platform, there’s an establishing shot of the Senate office building. I tried something interesting where I had some of Palpatine’s dialogue play during the establishing shot and continue into the shot where he’s talking to the Jedi Council.
I cut the scene of Anakin and Obi-Wan on the elevator. I did another go at starting the dialogue during the establishing shot, starting with “It’s a great pleasure to see you again, m’lady.”
Before the scene of Anakin and Padme deciding to go to Tatooine, I included a flashback sequence of Ani winning the Podrace, selling the Pod, and saying goodbye to Shmi.
There’s the montage of Anakin searching for Shmi. I re-arranged the shots so the montage makes more sense to me, as in, he speeds under a rock arch, he talks with a Jawa, and then he speeds through Tatooine. The original montage ended with Anakin talking with a Jawa, and I felt like it was an awkward shot to end off of. I also changed the music to something dramatic from Two Steps from Hell.
Before the scene of Obi-Wan and Dooku talking, I included a flashback of Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon fighting Maul and Obi saying goodbye to Qui-Gon. I recently saw that ‘The Jedi’s Apprentice’ put that as a flashback before the opening title crawl, so I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing; I don’t know…
At first, I included a few scenes from The Clone Wars movie arranged in a humorous way in the middle of the credits, but I moved it to after the credits. Of course, it’s riffing on how Anakin never wanted an apprentice but gets Ahsoka anyway.
To be fair, there were already a lot of other edits to AOTC that I borrowed by downloading, I think, HAL’s edit, so I grandfathered in those by default, mainly stuff that avoids the creepiness of Anakin or removes excess dialogue.
Oh… but I just remembered a change that is mine, and I love it! During the scene of Anakin and Obi-Wan in the bar, I inserted the Grandmaster Jam music from ‘Ragnarok.’ The original scene didn’t have any club music, and I feel like this is perfect alien club music.
LOE is basically the first third of The Clone Wars movie, a montage of Anakin and Ahsoka, and then Ahsoka’s second-to-last adventure in the Clone Wars, making an inbetween-quel.
In LOE, during the montage of Anakin and Ahsoka’s adventures in the Clone Wars, I used music I found on YT that combines the Siege of Mandalore music with the Battle of Coruscant music. Earlier, I borrowed music by Two Steps from Hell, but I think this feels more appropriate.
At the end of LOE, I did include the beginning from the Siege of Mandalore arc as a post-credit sequence; that was mainly because I had trouble finding a way to include that in ROTS while also including a title crawl, as it pans down to Coruscant.
This version of ROTS does borrow a lot of edits from the New Canon Cut by NFBisms, but I still made a lot of changes on my own.
In this version of ROTS, I ended up borrowing a shot from the Clone Wars series to start with a new title crawl, then show Venator Star Destroyers exiting hyperspace, and then wiping to the scene on Yerbana; I feel like that implies that Anakin was just arriving to help Obi-Wan. After Ahsoka gets her lightsabers and everything, she walks away, and the camera wipes to the two Jedi starfighters flying around in the Battle of Coruscant.
I made a lot of tiny adjustments to make sure the wipe effects went smoothly; some of them may be a bit jarring still, but I’m more or less happy with them.
In ROTS, I removed about 30 minutes of scenes I felt were dialog-heavy without moving the plot along enough, like Palpatine putting Anakin on the Council, Anakin being told to spy on Palpatine, and Yoda getting shuttled to a Venator to go to Kashyyyk. I even cut the scene of Grievous being told to move the CIS leaders to Mustafar, because we see him announcing that to them before Obi-Wan jumps in. Besides, I like the idea of not seeing Grievous again until Obi-Wan does. I cut the scene where Yoda initiates the Defense on Kashyyyk, because I feel that what’s going on with Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka is more important. In this edit, Yoda is already on Kashyyyk by the time we see him.
In ROTS, toward the end of the credits, I played the audio of Obi-Wan’s message to surviving Jedi.
After the credits, I show all of Vader’s scenes of getting rescued by Palpatine and getting into his suit, then he joins Tarkin viewing the DS-1 construction, and then Vader lands on the planet where Ahsoka left a lightsaber.
Obviously, I’m borrowing from Marvel by doing the whole post-credit scene thing. I just always thought that was interesting and figured I’d borrow an outside-the-box idea.
EDIT:
Also, my version of the intro is slightly different.
The title card with the text “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…” all fits on one line, has a comma after “ago,” and has three dots in the ellipses, instead of four.
The ‘Star Wars’ logo is light blue, like the aforementioned title card.
The title crawl is light blue, the episode number is an Arabic numeral, instead of a Roman numeral, and it ends with a period, instead of an ellipses; it also tends to avoid all caps, unlike how certain words are in all caps in the theatrical versions.
