It’s getting a bit late on my end, but I’ll send the lines and video to Speaking of AI tomorrow. If anyone has anymore lines they’d like to submit, let me know.

I’ve “re-written” the first scene with Kylo and Palps. Some of the new dialogue could be accomplished with AI.

(Yes, this also requires changing any mentions of the Final Order into the Sith Eternal.)

How exactly can this be accomplished? Both with Palpatine’s voice and having new dialogue for Kylo Ren where you see him speak the lines.

What exactly is wrong with AI-ing new voice clips for Palps?

No one has a fully trained Palpatine voice AI model, as far as I know. It would also be quite hard to make one, I think, even for a skilled voice synthesis expert like Speaking of AI.

We’re lucky with Kylo: Adam Driver has done plenty of movies, TV episodes and interviews, and Speaking has already used that material to train a vocal model for him that they use in their YouTube videos. Outside of Kylo’s dramatic outbursts, Driver tends to use his normal voice and a restrained delivery for the role, so hopefully the deadpan output we’ll get from an AI will match reasonably well.

TROS Palpatine on the other hand is very much not a restrained delivery of Ian McDiarmid’s normal voice. There’s only a limited amount of dialogue in the film to train from, but even if you were to widen the focus to a general Ian McDiarmid model and just hope you could pitch shift it and add some reverb to match it in, I think it’d still be way too deadpan to fit McDiarmid’s iconically theatrical portrayal of Palaptine.
