Hey. Has anybody seen this trailer before? It's really good.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dbsfGGwHCek

The person who uploaded it says he found it on an old UK rental tape. Do you think it would be possible to add this on to the extended director's cut dvd, if the footage could be acquired?

Hey, LeoneNut

Sean has posted an entry on his Legend FAQ about your 2 extended editions.
Very informative, details exactly all the steps you took.
I still can't thank you enough for the great job you did.
I've watched both versions numerous times, (Ver1 with friends, Ver2 by myself),
and it still amazes how seamless the inserts are.

Anyway, check out the faq entry:

Yeah Sean told me he put the article up a few weeks back, this was originally a list I sent Sean about 6/7 months ago. It's a lot more detailed because includes every little change.

Good to hear you still watch my edits. I actually prefer my extended edit over any official cuts now. It's a real shame that the alternate intro and faerie dance don't exist in good quality, as I think I would watch the workprint version more.

If you know where to look there is a new version out there with new menus and the sound has been upconverted to 5.1.

Me too. I actually put both discs in my Ultimate Edition box and packed the originals away!!

It is a shame about the alternate intro and the faerie dance. I still keep hoping that someone will one day uncover those elements in a vault somewhere. To me, they're the holy grail of lost footage.

Good to hear about the sound upgrade. Was that your doing, or someone elses?

I know this is kinda off topic, but I actually emailed William Hotsburg I believe his name is now (this was 2 years ago lol) about Legend.

I've been kinda working on making it a musical. I'm not sure how I'd ever get it done but I wanted to go to the source and see what his thoughts on the idea were.

Personally, I love the Goldsmith score and even though I'm a composer, I don't think I could ever surpass such a score. It would be interesting to see it on stage and I've already worked out a few things.

It's cool to see people who are still interested in the film.

I personally have always loved the film and would love to see this edit. I have the two disc set but I'd like to see how the changes work.

I always liked the longer version of the film, but I felt it still seemed rushed. I find Ridley Scotts editing abhorrent in his films. He has a great 3 dimensional vision and artistic eye, but can't edit worth crap, so a good edit would go a long way for this film which I thought lacked a lot of cohesion becuase of the editing.

I liked the Tangerine Dream score, but I love the Jerry Goldsmith score. Something about it just gave it such a beautiful mysterious sense. I heard they're coming out witht he complete version (it's on amazon.com actually with a release date next year I think it is but that's about all the information there).

I'd love to see the film completed as it had been written or intended even. It seems so many forces stood in the way of the film, from natural to human... it's rather sad really but makes it that much more interesting a story to be told.

Is it not sad that in this time, we are more surprised by acts of love than acts of hate?

Hey there, I stumbled in here through the Figmentfly FAQ, and am very much interested in seeing these cuts. I read the list of additions/alterations for both of the cuts, and it sounds like a fantastic undertaking. The art for the DVD case is itself stunning. I read a page or two back that the torrents will be up on demonoid. Will it be up elswhere? Last I checked, demonoid required membership with their site, available only through invite, I think, to be able to download most of their torrents. And, now that I check, I see that the site is down.

Any thoughts on a more widely-available torrent link or links?

Brilliant, thank you, both

Edit: Yargh. Not being a Rapidshare premium account member, apparently I can only download one about every 90 minutes or so. No word yet on a single or multiple file torrent?

As soon as I get my hands on a Blu-ray copy of the film, I might just be able to take a crack at it. 😉

Anyone have the link to download these fanedits? Please PM me. I’d be so thankful.

I had them on disc, sent to me by LeoneNut himself, but can’t find them at the moment. I received the Arrow Boxset recently and started thinking of this fanedit again.

@LeoneeNut - Any chance of you upgrading your fanedits to Blu Ray?

This trailer is now available (in remastered form) on the new Arrow Blu-Ray release of LEGEND.
