What are the best non surround stereo movies ? ( on home video )

This thread is intended for people to cite examples of movies that have great stereo only sound, which do not require an av receiver or other equipment to be enjoyed at home, and to articulate their opinions on why , and can include older media formats as well . I am an avid collector of VHS , so have a particular interest in this topic .

^ Thanks for the tip , I will have to add that to my collection. I just watched Batman Returns (1992) on VHS and the sound was awesome on it . According to wikipedia ,It was the first film to be announced as released with Dolby SR-D technology (later known as Dolby Digital.

For clarification , My sound system at home is very unconventional …I currently have a 4head HI-FI stereo VCR hooked up to 2 CRT TVs , a 19 inch ,which is hooked up through coaxial and a 13 inch tv/vcr combo hooked up through rca jacks . I have computer speakers hooked up to the smaller tv through the headphone jack and from that , I am running a male to male aux cable to a Sony boombox with a bass reflex sound system . The 19 inch tv has a 2.0 sound bar hooked up to it and is sitting on a desk below the smaller tv .

I just watched Saving Private Ryan on the setup that I mentioned above . The VHS copy I have says it is stereo surround , and while I don’t have a surround sound decoder , and the speaker sources I am using are on a desk in front of me ,as well as a countertop slightly above me , the sound was phenomenal and panned a lot from speaker to speaker with various effects and the tank scenes near the end had a lot of rumbling bass , almost sounding like it was behind me or in the room at times ! So far , this is the best sounding movie I have heard on my current setup .
