So just finally watched the forceghostrecon luke scene and its pretty straight forward the deepfake luke in 1080p. I dont know if it changes anything for anyone but I can clip it out and post it somewhere if thats whats stopping someone from just putting it in the episode format. Let me know if thats what anyone wants.

So, I’ve made an edition of the deepfake Tarkin & Leia on Rogue One, if anyone is interested. I used a Blu-ray source on 1080p (which is the max resolution of the fakes) and 5.1 sound. It looks great on my computer, but I didn’t test in on a telly yet, to be honest, and mine isn’t very large either.

I plan on adding the John Williams music as well, but… when I checked the sound channels I noticed a lot of the music spilled into the dialogue channel, and I am not very skilled with sound edition. Any help is appreciated.

I’m planning to publish my edit to fanedit.org, but I need to add credit where credit is due first, and they have a policy over there that one must be a member of their forums for 30 days and all that jazz.

Oh, yes, could I get a link to check this edit?
Thanks!

Sorry all! After I said I would complete the Luke/Mando edit, I started battling some new audio issues with FCPX and have been spending all of my time packing/moving (my landlord decided to sell our place, forcing us to suddenly move). I completed the episode edit in an afternoon but for some reason FCPX has decided to start adding random pops and clicks in the audio where there are none in the MP4 file. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this, I would really appreciate any advice as I need to figure out how to resolve this to continue making edits.

Just saw that report myself. If true, congratulation, man! That’s incredible. Can’t wait to see “Shamook” in the end credits of upcoming SW.

JEDIT: And if he really does work on something, I’m sure people will want to playfully replace his real name with Shamook in the credits of the fan edited version.

My stance on revising fan edits.

That’s really, really awesome.

I wonder if his employment has anything to do with Luke’s upcoming appearances in various shows? I bet his methods are a lot cheaper and obviously look better than that CGI.

It was a huge improvement. I bet with his skills the can really do a young like/Lisa/etc for shows and it would look a whole lot better.

Also, I didnt realise this thread was still active, so I would be happy to make a rudimentary edit putting the deepfake into the end of the Mando episode tomorrow.

(I’m not sure if the quality will match as the forceghostrecon source is lower than the highest quality setting for the YouTube video, but it’s still 1080p so it should be terrible).

WHO KNOWS, NOW THAT SHAMOOK IS AT LUCUSFILM MAYBE HE CAN MAKE A NEW ONE! XD

I DID IT! For anyone who wants it I finally edited Shamook’s deepfaked Luke into the original Mando episode format! I got the resources from ForceGhostRecon and I was just planning on doing a simple, cut in old splice in the new, but this turned into 5 hours of editing.

  • I recolored/adjusted the gamma of each shot with Luke in it since FGR recolored his “Movie” version of Mando, and I wanted the shots to mesh seamlessly with the OG shots.

  • Brought back the original length of every shot (FGR had cut a few frames off of some shots, probably by accident) while slightly shortening the one shot of him looking down before picking Grogu up.

  • And lastly I recut a shot of Luke looking down at Grogu that didnt use the deepfake (most likely cause FGR couldnt find the resource). SO NOW every close up shot of Luke (minus him bending down) is deepfaked! TA DA!

I’m going to be uploading it to a google drive, so if any yall want it, private message me!

The scene was such a lovely one to work on.

Hello everyone! It’s been some months since Shamook was kind enough to provide the source files of his Rogue One deepfakes, and as I noted back then the deepfakes themselves were a lot sharper but the surrounding footage was of lower quality.

Well I was finally able to take the time to redo my deepfake implementation, only using Shamook’s source quality files this time. Not only is the source quality much higher, but the files also included all the shots that were missing from the Youtube video. Previously I used alternate sources for these shots (save for one where I couldn’t find any source), they blended better than the original CGI but still they were lower quality and weren’t a perfect match to Shamook’s work, now all the shots are of equal quality and source so the whole thing is way more cohesive.

Here’s a preview of all the new clips:

pw: fanedit

Most of the work had to be redone but the process was a lot more straightforward this time around. With just a bit of noise the footage blended pretty well, as well as some small fixes, fades etc . I kept the clips the same lenght and name so that is easy to replace the previous versions. (I also learned that exporting lossless is unnecessary and creates ludicrous file sizes so now all the clips only come at 2.16 GB).

I’ve created a Google drive to share this new version and will be sending the link to everyone who previously showed interest, if anyone else would like the link feel free to PM me. Huge thanks to Shamook for sharing his work and making this possible!
