That's all just prequel crap. In my mind, all Jedis disappear when they die and become spirits. That's it. That's all part of being a Jedi. None of this 'you have to learn how to do it from Qui-Gon' shit. Jedis die, they disappear, they come back as spirits. The fact that they are a spiritual, enlightened bunch of people is explanation enough for me. There was no need for the convoluted and poorly done explanation we were given in the prequels. If Qui-Gon had faded away, it would have been fine. Granted, that might raise a question about Vader fading at the end of Jedi, which I personally thing is what should have happened, but I imagine that he did fade and we just didn't see it. Luke burned his suit only.
Then again, in my mind their are no midichlorians either.
