Star Wars Radio Drama - Special Edition

So I've got this uploading to Demonoids torrents right now, but can't get upload permission over at myspleen. I know Zion has a set of these, he can vouch for the quality, wondering if anyone else would like to get em. I don't know how you talk the myspleen people into giving you uploads permission, but if someone HERE has uploads permission (and I know someone here does) maybe they'd be willing to throw it up there as well?

Here's the nfo file from the demonoid torrent:

Star Wars Radio Dramas: Special Edition.

No, I didn't edit in Greedo shooting first or Vader saying "Alert my Star Destroyer,"
or any of the more typical fanboy complaints. When I first got my hands on the Radio
Dramas in 1998, I loved em, but being an impatient kid, it bugged me when the narrator told me
stuff I already knew, and him piping up every 30 minutes to tell me what I'd just heard
and what I was about to hear just sort of got in the way of the universe that was unfolding
in my head.

So, in 2000, with a copy of the soundtracks, some isolated sound effects, and a copy of Cool
Edit Pro, I edited together a more cinematic version of the Radio Dramas. There is
no narration anymore. The individual 30 minute episodes have been trimmed up and rejoined
as 70-80 minute "parts." The opening credits kick off part 1, and the closing credits are
the last thing you hear on the final part. Thus making "A New Hope" go from 13 half hour
episodes to 4 seventy-minute parts. "Empire" goes from 10 half hours to 3 parts, and Jedi
goes from 6 half hours to 2 parts. I hope you find this new listening experience a little
more immersing and enjoyable.

Thanks to National Public Radio, George Lucas for selling KUSC-FM the rights to the

Are the original versions of the radio dramas available on CD? I know they've been released on tape in years past, but does anyone know where to find them digitally, other than a download?

A simple Amazon search would reveal to you that they're available on CD.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Is there a way to get it on Myspleen?

Question:

I have the boxed set with just SW and Empire. I know another boxed set came out when jedi was finally released. were there any extras in that boxed set that weren't in the previous one?

I have a box set that has all three in it, and it has no extras. To be honest, I don't know where the extra stuff came from. I seem to remember there being another box set in addition to the one that I have, but I may be wrong. Perhaps that is where the extras were available.

Like i said...the set with just empire and SW had a bonus disc with the Making of the first two plus deleted scenes, promos, etc. Guess I got the right one I always saw that the Trilogy set had a bonus disc as well.

Jack,

I did some research and the Limited Edition versions had all the extras on them. You must have gotten the "barebones" edition.

Well, the trilogy set that I have (big ass box) doesn't have anything extra at all. Guess I got screwed (though I got it off eBay cheap, so I guess I shouldn't bitch).

Deluxe collector's edition, of which only 7,500 were produced, has all three of the original radio dramas:
Star Wars; The Empire Strikes Back; and Return of the Jedi.

"Fifteen hours of audio on 15 CDs, in a handsome, foil-stamped, collector's slipcase with special bonus tracks never before available, including interviews with the cast members and much more. "

Star Wars Collector's Edition Complete Trilogy sells for $195.00

You know what really sucks ass is that this is coming back to me now. When I won the eBay auction, it was supposed to be for that LE set. The pics and description were for it. And the SOB sent me the regular box set instead. My dumb ass sat on it for like two months before opening it and realizing that it was the regular edition. At that point there was nothing I could do about it.

Oh well, if I get this SE set (trying to dl it on demonoid, but it is slooooooow), then I the box set will just be gathering dust anyway.

I have the Limited Edition set and the only extra stuff on it is some stuff in Jedi. None of the deleted scenes or alternate openings/closings or that very nice "making-of" special that were featured on an earlier pressing. Here's a rundown of what on the Collector's Limited Edition set that isn't the shows themselves:

Comments from Anthony Daniels during the recording sessions
Comments from Joshua Fardon during the recording sessions
Comments from Perry King during the recording sessions
Comments from John Madden during the recording sessions
Speederbike chase, dialogue only

Man, I'd be all over those things like Angelina Jolie on a 3rd world orphan...

Quick question - I wonder if any of the dialogue could be of use to fan editors. I haven't heard these for a long time, but it might be cool to see some of the deleted scenes reconstructed with some of the dialogue in the Dramas...

Hi, Bizzle!
I've already downloaded your special edition of the Star Wars Radio Dramas (I've talked with you about name and covers on demonoid if you remember...), and I'd be very interested in having hi-res versions of your covers. Is it possible for you to post them here (hosting in some place and a link here) ?
Thanks! BTW, you did a great job!

Re-upped the Torrent, with some fixes. Jack, since you're already on Demonoid, here's the link:

Anyone know how to get the notice of the people running myspleen? This thread has some 200 odd views, and yet those people can't grab it.

Kaal: here's the direct links to the hi-res files on imageshack:

I too got the previous version from September 8.
Now I'll grab the fixed one.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Mallwalker: The message directly above yours, I say I re-upped it with some fixes. Which is why you're seeing "Final" added to it with today's date. I don't know why there's two torrent numbers there for the same torrent. That is weird. I changed the link to simply go to the page with the link on it. It's probably better that way, anyway.
