There is also evidence in AOTC that the Jedi were not well-liked by the general population, which to me suggests that they were an insular sect that acted more like a police force than a neutral arbiter of peace and justice.

- Did G. Lucas ever intend to portray the Jedi as a flawed institution in the prequels? Or was it added later in the EU?
