I read some small print as far as they know the SEs again, why? most people have the 2004 sets, more tinckering surely not who knows....

EDIT sounds like its out for Xmas just make Lucas some extra cash, no decent extras just commentries and easter eggs.

Now if this were the originals, everyone here would need to change their pants, but it probably won't be.

This is laughable. I should put a boycott on this, who's with me

It's got the original poster art as the cover-art. That has promise.

He's gonna screw us again! I can foresee this! It's now time to call him Luca$. He thinks he needs the extra cash! It'll just be a rehash of the 2004 DVD's!!!!!!!!! Looks like the Manglers need to go on another roadtrip up to Skywalker Ranch!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not touching it, if its the O-O-T yes, do Lucasfilm really think all the fans have the funds to buy each new version of the same movie when its no/or slighty different to the 2004 version.

Has Lucas changed anything? thats the big question?

I hate to say this and never thought I would, but this is milking the cash cow and a blatant attempt to make the bearded one more cash.

Aren't the previous DVDs off the market now? I mean, that they are shipping them anymore? How is this trying to milk money off of people, if they are just basically re-releasing the latest version? Fox loves to rerelease their films in the barbones versions, and this looks like nothing different.

Let's not overreact just yet.

FOX wouldn't do it without Lucas' approval. I don't think the 2004 DVD's are off the shelf yet, so I don't know what exactly they wish to accomplish by this.

Adam, you could have edited it rather than spam a new post. I might buy it if Gayden Christensen is removed! LMAO

Off the shelf and not being distributed anymore are two different things. If LFL and Fox aren't making any further prints of the 2004 release, then this would be what is replacing it during the time period they are also selling the PT and ROTS DVDs. It's barebones, meaning it can be alittle cheaper and might grab those parents buying Christmas gifts and getting ROTS to snatch a copy off 3 of the other films up.

Everybody does it, I don't see the big deal. We've gotten barebones releases of The Godfather on DVD and there wasn't a riot.

If GL has changed the 2004 again, in order to create a 2005 version, I'll personally go to the Skywalker Ranch and punch him in the nose. If it's the O-OT, I'd be quite surprised, and happy.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

It was "Star Wars" on DVD for the first time, everyone who wanted it, must have it surely, there can be too many fans who didnt buy it who wanted it. seems a blatant attempt to repackage the classic trilogy for Xmas maybe a tie in to a prequel boxset announcement and release for Xmas.

The suggest SRP for the Star Wars Trilogy (2004) was $69.98. That's a $20 price drop.

He ought to, just so that it will allow him another oppurtunity to say his favorite phrase about, 'It's my VISION!!"

Maybe its a "fixed" version of the previous DVD set, with the stupid mistakes they made fixed, such as the reversed sound channels, Luke's saber not green in the Falcon, etc. Hopefully it isn't yet another SE release, with still more changes.

Its probably just a cheap repackaging of the previous release to cash in on ROTS coming to DVD shortly before that.
But we can always hope it is the O-OT. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

He lies with every release, saying it's his "original vision" every time. His vision just changes every few years, that's the truth.

By the way, I just reported this to theforce.net, check their home page.

I seriously doubt this will be any different from the 2004 release. The only difference will be the lack of the now-outdated bonus disc with the RotS preview material.
