Although people are ok with it and come up with “interpretations” or “what he meant was …”

Isn’t that essentially excusing people or bad things/thinsg that don’t make sense.

A person goes to a place known for their steaks. A family comes in with their grand father and he says:

“I hate your steaks.”

Embarrassed, the family says “He didn’t mean that, What he meant to say is …”

It’s concerning we are getting to the point that its “ok” to have lines that make no sense in context to anything but its “ok” since we excuse it and make interpretations of things.

At least with the example of Kenobi in the OT, he was the one who made his explanation regarding his point a view. It wasn’t something that the audience had to come up with for an explanation … or “interpretation.”
