Considering that George tried to get Frank Oz an Oscar nod for Empire, I don't think there is ANY chance he would replace the original puppet with CGI. Frank Oz's work on Empire was phenomenal and I think Frank Oz would be on ANGRY dude if that ever happened. I'm sure Kershner would be pissed too.
