The short answer is: no one really knows. Seeing as the audio is probably the easiest part of the restoration, the sound on the final product is on the backburner until the video is ready to be transfered to DVD. From what they've been saying, the final product will have the original PCM audio from the laserdiscs (the best possible audio source available - and it's pretty good! I have Cowclops' original version of his transfer which features the PCM audio and about everyone agrees that the sound is the best feature on that version).

The laserdiscs were encoded in Dolby Digital PCM 2.0 (which can become 4 channel surround if you have a compatible reciever).
