In her movie, Captain Marvel’s arrogance was not intended to be a flaw, but some how a strength… and that just doesn’t work.

No they’re not. Strange’s feeds into his desire to be the best at magic as much as he was at medicine and Stark’s drives him to constant innovation. Danver’s main strength is not giving up, it’s probably due to arrogance, but, like the other two, it directly feeds her strength.

What Strange and Stark have to give up is their selfishness. Danvers never suffers from that problem.
