I don’t know that it’s necessary, but I have always used ProRes HQ to be safe. The end result can never technically be as good as the original BluRay (for example) source, but I want it to be as close as possible.
On the other hand, using and saving ProRes LT files could’ve saved me a lot of headache as oppose to reattaching media later and having to manually realign clips.
Man, if I woke up and it was 2013 again, I could get through this all dramatically more efficiently.
