Probably not the best comparison. But it still shows that there has ALWAYS been bad mainstream music. Music in general never got worse, it’s just that the bad pop music has gotten more prevalent. If Sugar Sugar came out in the 2010s it probably would be held in the same regard as mainstream pop.
