Closest thing to a Pell grant in Canada is a Canada Study Grant. Mine comes on Feb. 1.

well i can honestly say this is going to be one of the most expensive years for DVD...

my dream has come true and on 11/23 they are releasing Cloak and Dagger...
many have heard me go on and on about this movie...

well its time...

I liked that movie as a kid, mostly because I was a total video game freak, and while the movie doesn't focus on that it is a part of it. Do you know if it will be widescreen? Companies sometimes don't make WS versions of older, lower demand titles-for example, Remo Williams is P&S only unless you want to shell out $40 for an R2 Japanese release.

I could care less about the aspect ratio on this one. While I would prefer either 1.85:1 or 2.35:1, the only way I remember seeing this movie growing up was on cable in 1.33:1 aspect ratio. I'm not sure what else there would really be in the extra space. So, either way, it is MINE!

I notice that on DTS tracks, the subwoofer is MUCH more powerful, even to the point of being distracting. Also, the quiet parts are REALLY quiet and the loud parts are REALLY REALLY loud. The dialogue is so soft that you have to turn up the volume to hear it and when a loud part comes I have to quickly turn it down because I have neighbors, plus I fear it might damage my speakers.

i'm not sure what kind of DVD player you have but on mine if you go into the DVD player setup menu it has a "dolby digital setup" tab
and in there is a "dynamic range" setting that ajusts your "dynamic range compression"...most likely if you have this setting it is set to full....if you set this down some the "loud volume...soft volume" effect wont be nearly so dramatic

Isn't that the movie where Elliot from ET has an imaginary spy friend looking for an atari game, and every 5 minutes the director almosts screams at you "This is an 80s movie!! 80s!! Nineteen eigthties!!".

All cool, The Cure on DVD, the movie where every 5 minutes the director screams at you "This is sad!! Cry, you heartless bastard, cry!!".

I'm kidding, I love both movies, specially The Cure. The Cure and Stand by Me are the ultimate "friendship"movies.

Stand By Me is one of my favorite movies ever. Still freak out thinking that it was based on a novella by Stephen King. I own that book too because it also has Apt Pupil and Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption in it.

Stand by Me was a fantastic movie...
its hard to believe all the famous actors who were in it too...

Pretty good. Not exact. But better than most. Check out the novella sometime. It's only about 150 pages or so.

I don't laugh when I see Kiefer Sutherland because that's what I'm accustomed to from him. However, I get a kick out of seeing Jerry O'Connell (Sliders, Jerry Maguire) in it as Vern. That cracks me up to no end just because of how much he has changed since that time.

all you simpsons fans will be getting a double dose of simpsons this year...

they have announced that Simpsons complete 5th season will be ready just before christmas...
expect a release date of 12/21

i hearby am declaring this year to be the best year for DVDs so far...

I knew about Simpsons. Found out yesterday. It has been a pretty good year for DVDs.

But be careful in 2005... Special Edition of Office Space, BABYYYYYYY!!!!
