Cast A Deadly Spell (Released)

I’m doing a “Special Edition” Blu ray for this under seen gem. I’m using the HD version that’s floating out there, taken from a HBO stream most likely. With it is the trailer that I remade in HD and a “Noir” Black and white version of the film. I didn’t just simply make it black and white but went scene by scene to ensure the contrasts was good as many scenes have stark saturated single colours and when they get turned to BW they become flat, with little contrast. I also added grain to the BW version.

This also comes with english subtitles that I’m working on right now.

This will be a dual layer Blu Ray in the end.

Really? I don’t ever remember anybody dropping F bombs in it. I’ve have a few different VHS releases and I don’t remember hearing that at all. Maybe I’m misremembering.

Looks like it was only a couple of God Damns and a fuck. Done and done!

The project is finished. Subtitles were a pain in the ass and I’m not sure they work properly (were wonky when I played the ISO on VLC but I still have to test the disc at home in a regular player)
I cut together a unrated audio track which sounds pretty good considering the source I used. There’s also a mono track as well as a Turkish and a Russian dub I found.

The HD source I have had subtitles that I exported to be able to use in Encore and I think it messed them up severely so I had to redo them, missing dialog and wrong sentences and the sync was all out of whack.
Having tested the disc at home the subtitles work and look great though.
Encore is a great tool for making Blu Rays but their subtitle feature is lacking quite a bit.

By the way. Do you have the LD rip? I could switch out the uncensored track no problem.

No. I wasn’t a fan of Witch Hunt when I saw it years ago and there is no HD source that I know of, HBO doesn’t have it at least. I would like to see it again though, even though I hated that Fred Ward wasn’t in it.

Wow, I remember this movie (as well as the sequel Witch Hunt with Dennis Hopper) I think I still have both on an old vhs somewhere. I would love to see this!
