I think if you’re gonna cut it, you should just commit to it and cut the line from RotS. The line’s too vague in RotS, if I were watching that for the first time, I’d think it was an inconsistency.
Yeah, I also wasn’t convinced with that line, it makes the whole deal even more convoluted
My reasoning behind that change would be that Sidious doesn’t trust Grievous enough to let him know his plans (It is implied in other media that Grievous doesn’t even know that the chancellor is Sidious)
But yeah, the post was meant to be part of another one that I wrote in the ideas for the OT (that’s why it has mostly ideas that other editors have already tried or discussed)
