Spoilers for The Mandalorian chapter 16

This probably shouldn’t be in off-topic because it’s Star Wars related, but I don’t know of an equivalent thread.

I’m seeing a lot of sequel-haters using Luke’s scene in The Mandalorian as an excuse to trash The Last Jedi, stuff like “Rian Johnson should watch this and be ashamed of himself” and “they fixed Luke Skywalker”, and it annoys me no end. Luke in chapter 16 is pretty great, but it’s literally an action scene then him standing around talking, and people say ‘this is the Luke we should have got in the sequels’ like it means anything. Like, did you really just want action-hero Luke with no substance? Is this the attraction of Star Wars for so many people now? This probably isn’t the case, but sometimes it feels like the majority of fans are basing their view of Luke’s character on lightsaber action over an actual story. If only we could all be a little more open-minded about new and interesting interpretations of Star Wars.

Oh yeah, and I do NOT like cursive writing. I can’t read the bloody stuff and I write perfectly fast without it. Once, in my primary school years (this is UK system I’m talking about) I was told I would never survive in secondary school without knowing cursive writing, and thus many hours were devoted to practising it. I left primary school and have never used it since.
