I am not planning on Sequel Trilogy edits at this particular time due to the lack of proper deleted scenes for them. For now, I’m recommend Hal9000’s ST edits to people since I find them to be the best alternative to the official release, as most of what I’d want to do was already done in that version.

That’s not to say it’ll never be happen (despite the general controversy of the films, extended edits of VII and VIII could be interesting projects), but for now I just haven’t had the right inspirational spark to do it yet. The lack of official TROS deleted scenes really hurts that prospect.

Can you show your ROTS 4.5 hour cut to George Lucas, Rick A. Callum, and Dave Filoni? I can imagine the looks on their faces. Also show it to the cast including James Arnold Taylor, Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, Sam Witwer, and Dee Bradley Baker, Tome Kane, TC Carson, Katee Sackoff, Vanessa Marshall, Cameron Monaghan, Cere, Trilla, and Travis Willingham (Despite Fallen Order not included).

Just skimming through your ROTS cut, and I noticed that the elevator antics deleted scene was missing. I was wondering why it isn’t in here given it doesn’t have any unfinished VFX, or is it just a creative choice to leave that scene out. I was looking forward to seeing it in context.

Feedback aside, I’ve finished watching your Clone Wars microseries episodes and as someone who’s never seen all of them, I never would have guessed these were meant to be watched any other way. The 4K HDR conversion looks lovely, and I assume it helps having some sort of high quality source for it.

I’m planning on watching your TCW 4K cinematic cuts very soon. I’ve been making my way through the show again and just got to the Ryloth arc, so I will be watching that edit next!

You’ve done some great work, and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store!

Appreciate the feedback.

With the exception of Yoda’s arrival on Degobah, the scenes I chose to restore were scenes that…

A. Specifically tied into either the EU of the ROTS Era, or even current canon. (Same Mon Mothma actress as in Rebels, and the rest of the Senators showed up in material like James Luceno’s Dark Lord novel. Vader even kills one of them).
B. Had completed FX and required very few editing workarounds to include.
C. Did not explicitly contradict any other elements of canon and helped to enhance/expand the Star Wars universe without breaking it.
D. Were actually in the Matthew Stover ROTS novelization, so would have been considered canon back during the film’s release period.

Though Elevator Antics passed C, it failed all the other considerations, so I left it out. For these exact same reasons, I couldn’t include either Shaak Ti death. My goal is truly to make cut feel as much like an authentic LOTR style “Extended Edition” as possible (different art styles aside), while still being internally consistent and as lengthy as possible. This is why I also tweaked elements of the 2D Clone Wars series in the cut to fit better with official canon. Very minor bits, but the changes are there.

Plus, funny as it is, Hayden making R2 noises is definitely a bit out of place even for Lucas’ usual droid humor.

I was wondering why did you pushed Yoda going to Dagohbah after Vader and Sidious watching the construction of the Death Star?

Author

If George Lucas shows us the Deleted Nos Monster scene, an extended Kashyyk ambush with Yoda, Tarful, and Chewbacca’s quest to the escape pod, Wat Tambor’s death, San Hill and Shu Mai killed by Anakin (Because we see Tambor and Mai dead and Mai’s leg is seen chopped), Obi-Wan visiting Padme before going to Utapau, Palpatine talking to Anakin after Obi-Wan leaves to Utapau and before Anakin goes to Padme’s place, they would’ve fit perfectly.

As best I can recall, I believe it was because it was the most natural break point in the music to fit an extra scene in there. When I experimented with it based on script placement, it didn’t sound quite right the other way.

It’s been awhile since I made that edit, so my memory will be a bit vague on why at the time, but that’s what I can most directly recall. Ultimately, I’m happy with the choice now and intend to keep it as it is.

And yes, I’d love it if more deleted scenes were intact and usable, as I tried to use as many as I reasonably could in the Episode I and II edits.

Regardless, I’m very happy with this updated v3. Any future changes will most likely be reserved for updates for content from the Bad Batch arc ‘if’ it can be done tastefully (I could already see myself syncing shots from the Bad Batch Trailer with the clones to Palpatine’s actual speech, but that also depends on context and timing of the events of those episodes).

I am looking forward to the 5.1 surround sound version of the ROTS cut, because isolating the vocals would be much cleaner.

Also enjoyed your ROTS immensely. Honestly could’ve sworn that it was a professional cut if it weren’t for the 2003 scenes. Imo, those stand out too much in tone and style to fit in properly with the Lucas/Filoni stuff. The two jumps to Coruscant also feel weird.

Your New Hope supercut was great too. Liked how natural the deleted scenes felt.

Would you recommend watching all your TCW films in the order they’re numbered? (Batch one all the way down the list, batch two all the way down the list, etc.)

And the list above has several episodes to watch on Disney+. Would it be fine to skip these and just watch what you’ve done? I’m more than okay with missing some stuff and getting the best and/or most important parts.

Is what you included in your Siege of Mandalore cut of ROTS available elsewhere in your material, or just there? I don’t want to miss the end of TCW if I skip it.

Also, should I watch (your version of) the TCW 2008 movie first, or is the relevant stuff included in your other TCW film set?

Man, this whole set looks like a TON of work.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Of the stuff I’ve released so far, here’s the viewing order that’s included with the latest batch. All of the show’s most important plot related episodes are included within Batches I and II alone, while batches III (and eventually IV) will include less crucial stuff (though still very many enjoyable arcs).

The Clone Wars Season 1 Content:
The Clone Wars 2008 Film Extended Cut
0.1 The Malevolence Film Cut
0.3 The Gunray Chase Film Cut
0.7 The Battle of Ryloth Film Cut

Season 2 & 3 Content
0.8 The Second Battle of Geonosis Film Cut
1.0 The Mandalore Plot Film Cut
1.1 The Menace of Cad Bane Film Cut
1.4 The Young Boba Film Cut
1.9 The Heroes on Both Sides Film Cut
2.0 The Nightsisters Film Cut
3.0 The Mortis Film Cut
3.1 The Citadel Film Cut

Season 4 & 5 Content
3.3 The Mon Cala War Film Cut
4.0 The Battle of Umbara Film Cut
4.1 The Slavers of Zygerria Film Cut
4.2 The Rako Hardeen Film Cut
4.3 The Rebellion of Onderon Film Cut
4.4 The Young Jedi Film Cut
4.5 The Droid Adventure Film Cut
5.0 The Return of Darth Maul Film Cut
6.0 The Wrong Jedi Film Cut

Season 6 Content
6.1 The Order 66 Arc Film Cut
6.2 The Banking Clan Film Cut
7.0 Yoda’s Journey Film Cut
The Son of Dathomir Audio Comic (Bonus)
Revenge of the Sith - The Siege of Mandalore Cut

The film cuts labeled 1-7, and the TCW 2008 Extended Film cut which introduce Ahsoka Tano are THE most essential, which is why I released that batch (and the Extended Film edit) first, while The Order 66 Arc from Season 6 (6.1), and the Rako Hardeen Arc from Season 4 (4.2) are also fairly important, though not AS crucial overall. The rest are great, but much more optional. The Numbering system was designed so that I could add to the existing order without needed to change file names and don’t have too much meaning beyond that. The Bonus audio Comic also has some semi-important events, but is an arc few people will ever see since it’s an unused set of television scripts that was adapted into a comic (and then given some solid voiceover work by a well known youtube channel).

The Revenge of the Sith/Siege of Mandalore Cut is also pretty crucial, as a lot of stuff happens in the TCW Finale that will connect with later lore in the Disney canon. If you wish to watch my cut, you can, or if you prefer to just watch Season 7 on D+, you also can. Of course, it’s hard for me to separate the two now since they’re so intricately connected in my brain, and the S7 finale was obviously written with ROTS in mind to add to its events. The first arc of Season 7 (The Bad Batch), which I have not done a cut of yet will also be a setup for the upcoming spinoff show, which will be kind of a Season 8 continuation of TCW in a sense. However, the other 2 season 7 arcs are otherwise not all that essential. Everything I have not edited yet from seaons 1-6 is either a solo episode, or a less crucial 2 parter.

I did refine one of the transitions to Coruscant a bit in the latest edit if you’ve not seen it yet, but beyond that my hands are tied by what the source material allows me to do. I’ve experimented with several different transitions and the one you see in v3.0 works the best by far with what I’ve got.

Obviously, the 2003 series is going to be a jarring contrast to the rest of the content, and there are several versions of this cut out there by many editors that choose not to use it, but I felt strongly that an extended Battle of Coruscant was part of the story, particularly since its events get namedropped during the 3D arc, and also because I have vivid memories of watching the show before ROTS even came out. I expected Lucasfilm to reanimate those events in some way, but when Filoni and co chose not only to not animate it, but even reference the 2D series directly, I felt that I had to at least try to present a version where they were all one story. Heck, it was arguably one of my motives for doing the entire edit to begin with. I’ve trimmed bits and pieces here and there to make it flow a bit more coherently with canon, updated the Grievous voice to use Matthew Wood quotes, and other smaller details that some people might not even be aware of.

I’m glad you enjoyed the rest of it, and the Episode IV cut too. I hope you at least keep this in mind why I made the choices and I appreciate the rest of the feedback. If you haven’t seen it yet, go and grab the latest version of the Episode III too for future viewings if you wish.

I definitely get it. Haven’t seen V3 yet, but I’ll use that for my next CW rewatch. Probably paired with the movie edits.

I wonder what the TCW cinematic film cuts be like if Hayden Chirstenson (Anakin), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan/Rako Hardeen), Frank Oz (Yoda), Samuel L. Jackson (Mace), Christopher Lee (Dooku), Forest Whitaker (Saw Gerrera), Temmuera Morrison (the Clones), Jimmy Smits (Organa), Silas Carson (Gunray/Ki-Adi), Chris Truswell (Tambor), Natalie Portman (Padme), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka), Ian MacDirmid (Palpatine), Wayne Prygman (Tarkin), Orli Shosan (Shaak Ti), and EVERY Live action actors who played the characters in th PT replaced the animated voice actors. The new ones like Tom Hiddleston (Rush Clovis), Scarlett Johansson (Asaaj Ventress), Johnny Depp (Cad Bane), John Rhys-Daives (Trench), Orlando Bloom (Lux), Chris Hemsworth (Pog Krell), Zendaya (Trace), ETC would be the perfect live action versions of the animated exclusives. Characters like Savage Opress, Bo-Katan, Pre Visla, TODO-13, and a couple would be retained.

The batches seem to be levels of how much you want to see. Could stick with 1, or go to 2, 3, or 4. Once one picked what level to go to, would you recommend any order to view them, or watch all of batch 1, then 2, etc.?

I think you should watch them in chronological order.

Have you ever considered uploading the final 7 minutes of the film and the credits? Because it has no dialogue in it after C3-PO’s final words.

I don’t I noticed, but you removed the shot of C3-PO walking to Padme as she looks at the temple and a shot of Ahsoka and Rex walking up to the shed place. I wonder, why did you remove those shots?
