Wow - you are fast, lol. I did an edit to my original post with a 2Pac instrumental suggestion.
Also, can’t go wrong with Beastie Boys. Imagine ‘Intergalatic’ or ‘Sabotage’ playing when young Obi-Wan & Anakin enter the bar in AOTC to find the shape shifting assassin.

Intergalactic needs to be in there somewhere.
Working on some of these others, but just got these two up;
Battle of Hoth set to the “Immigrant Song” cover by Karen O, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.

Finn & Poe’s escape set to “Make Me Feel” by Janelle Monáe.

EDIT:
Nevermind, still down. Saw them pop up from my other YT account and got confused.
While those are down, the other one I did is up. “There She Goes” as Rey walks off into the sunset on Tatooine:
Gonna try one with Beastie Boys in Attack of the Clones next.

Intergalactic was fun to put in that scene, feel like it fits well.

One option is using instrumentals…for example, perhaps the instrumental to 2Pac’s Pain could be added where appropriate. Maybe in the scene where Anakin is on Tatooine seeking out his missing mother.
Here’s an attempt with Pain. I’m not totally sure about it, mainly because the beat is so repetitive. I brought in some of the backing vocals at the end, I think that helps.

Hey thanks for giving it a shot…not bad. You are right though, I guess that loop is a bit repetitive without Pac’s rhymes in there for variation.
So perhaps that spot needs something different.
Ah well. Again, thanks for giving it a try though.

Of course! It’s kind of a fun experiment. I haven’t been able to figure out anything for A New Hope though… and then I got sidetracked with the holidays.
Just added another Last Jedi scene, Rey & Kylo vs the Praetorian Guards set to BONES UK’s “Filthy Freaks”:
Just added the escape from the Death Star, in A New Hope, after Ben’s sacrifice set to “Trouble” by Cat Stevens.
If you’re still on this very cool project, here’s another suggestion for ROTS:
Elton John’s “The King Must Die” for Padme’s rumination and the following lightsaber fight.
Keep up the good work, I’ll keep an eye out
“Vader! Hologram, now!”

I’m not sure which scene you mean, do you mean when she goes to Mustafar? Or when Anakin comes back from Order 66, which doesn’t lead into a duel? I’m game to give it a shot though.
Separately, I think it’s the longer scenes that are staying kicked off YouTube, which would explain the Battle of Both and the Kylo/Rey duels leading to fighting Palpatine.
I mean the sequence after Mace and the others head off to capture Palpatine.
In my head the music would start after the shuttle takes off, continue throughout Anakin and Padmé’s long stare and lead us into the fight with Palpatine.
Edit: Regarding the length: Maybe scratch the duel, might be better this way in general, because I don’t know how well the music would mash with the “I am the Senat, da, da, da” (which I had forgot about, I thought the duel was already spinning at this point, ups)
“Vader! Hologram, now!”

I got pretty excited for this idea. That is, until I realized you guys were talking about replacing Williams with pop songs rather than other pieces of non-Williams scores. lol.
Regardless, this seems like a pretty fun exercise!

Yeah, that just sounds a lot harder. Haha, What did you have in mind?

Oh, nothing in particular. I had just expected this thread to be of people putting in Hans Zimmer and other composers’ scores into the films.
I don’t actually have a specific idea in mind. lmao.
I was searching for a period-appropriate Bowie track for the original trilogy, but Lazarus fit too well over the Cave in Empire Strikes Back:

This is such a great idea. Looking forward to more!

Bro, how do you separate the music from the audio channels?? I’m trying to do some fun edits but the bgm is in every channel
Bro, how do you separate the music from the audio channels??
Here to ask the same question.
Mate, this is some quality audio editing. perhaps the cleanest music removal I’ve heard on these forums! I would absolutely kill to have a prequel trilogy with the music scrubbed out. Please share your secrets JakeRyan17!
So I was listening to some old playlists of mine and came up with a little list of suggestions:
1.“Dare” by Stan Bush for Anakin blowing up the droid control ship
2.“Numb” by Linking Park for the duel between Anakin, Obi-Wan and Dooku in ROTS
3.“One” by Metallica for Vaders transformation
4.“Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen for Luke facing down the FO walkers
And another two that I am not sure whether they could work:
+“Saturday Night’s alright for Fighting” by Elton John for Han and Chewie chasing storm troopers on the DS in ANH
+“Zombie” by the Cranberries for the Attack on Maz’s castle
“Vader! Hologram, now!”
I’ll have to work on those!
Here are the latest ones I’ve done:
Obi-Wan vs Maul set to “One Way or Another” by Blondie.
https://youtu.be/8RwPPxvsem4
Luke vs the Rancor set to “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell.

So, somewhat related to this concept:
Today, I remembered how a friend of mine made the discovery a couple of years ago that the last 50 or so minutes of The Last Jedi syncs up almost perfectly with a good chunk of Kanye West’s “The Life of Pablo”. Having seen some of the clips he had originally posted about it on Twitter, it really does sync up scarily well. Almost to “The Dark Side of the Rainbow” types of levels of synchronicity.
Anyways, I went ahead and followed his specific instructions and made an edit of it. If anyone wants a copy, just hit me up.
