Back on topic. Until we get an explanation in some star wars publishing or video event in the official conitnuity, Jar Jar is not dead canonically. Lucas' staements have no bearing on continuity, unless he actually has them put to some official media. Therefore, Jar Jar's future after ROTS is uncertain at his time Case closed.
