Idea: A restored version of... Turkish Star Wars? :-)

Hah. The Holiday Special saw about 50 fan releases so far, so why not do something with this? There actually is an official release of this film, with, supposedly, restored picture and audio:

The only previous ones that I did see were the old, bad VHS transfers. I have one or two of these and as everyone who saw them knows, they’re not of too good a quality.

I also have proper English subtitles for the film. If anyone with the official DVD wanted to do something to, er, preserve it and make a fan edition, I can provide them right away (as well as some material for “bonus features”…)

I'd love to see a version of this that didnt look like crap! I just snagged a copy with English subs, it's a blast, but kinda hard to watch.

Now, if there was only a restored version of Turkish Star Trek...

Throw in the Korean Blade Runner and it's on like Donkey Kong.

By the way, anyone from Turkey here? I'd love to know if "Seytan", alias "The Turkish Exorcist", was released in Turkey on an official DVD. I would buy it right away, as I only have a crappy pirate VHS-to-DVD-R and a slighly better downloaded XVid encode of it..

Where can you get the official rerelease of T.S.W.? (couldn't track back from the picture location)

T.SW.SE.

ReverendBeastly, have you seen any subs for Turkish Star Trek? That one needs subs since most of it is verbal comedy. Still want to know what the back-attack-pinecones are....

TheCassidy, What's the Korean Blade Runner called? Saw the Korean Matrix, Sungnyangpali sonyeoui jaerim, it's not bad. it's only the K.M. because of some FX, it's a fairly original movie.

Something that would be interesting would be to combine the Turkish Star Wars with the Italian Star Wars. I don't know if that one is in English or at least subtitled. But a disc/set with the Star Wars Foreign rip-offs would be cool.

How about Turkish star wars with italian subtitles, or vice versa!!

Those who haven't seen DKA might have a look at this:

(The copy that I have is even worse - it's green and dark. This snippet has adjusted brightness and saturation)

Why did they use the music from Indiana Jones?

And never having seen anything aside from that clip, what the hell does jumping around with rocks attached to your ankles and kicking rocks have to do with Star Wars? Or is that the Turkish take on The Force? Is the character maybe named Luke Rockclimber or something? I admit that I am totally intrigued to see more.

It was funny when the kid fell on his butt-- didn't look intentional.

Oh geez… Just two weeks ago I bought a bootleg DVD. This movie is such an abomination, a human being won’t be able to explain it. But – it’s a cult movie. So I had to watch it again. Well, I tried. But I shot it down after fifteen minutes 😄
