Luke’s wig is one of those small details that you can’t unsee and it always reminds me of how rushed was the film. Besides having already seen a snippet of how jonh’s version would look like, I’m really hyped for it whenever it’s finished.

For those interested in (I’m talking to you RogueLeader 😄 ), here’s a very early, unrefined version of how the arrival at Jedha (ex-Pasaana) would look and sound: https://youtu.be/LrnAIDbjwkQ

-The Resistance being based on Luke’s planet
-Kylo vs Vader fanfilm placed at the beginning
-Have Han redeem Kylo when they meet at Starkiller Base. No killing.
-Have Palapatine’s shrine be in the remains of the second Death Star (I’m sure somebody’s tried this one)
-Possibly place Palpatine’s defeat before Snoke’s defeat…that is, if you’re going with the idea of a Reylo-themed ending
-Why not make the remains of the second Death Star Starkliller Base?

  1. The establishing shot of the planet could be altered to where there is a thin asteroid belt around it (sort of like D’Qar), and add lava inside the large canyon that runs across the planet surface (to imply that’s where the crust was cracked open by the Death Star).

I love the idea of turning Pasaana into Jedha, I hope someone can eventually turn the opening establishing shot into something like this mockup I did:

Chase, that looks awesome!

Something that I would love to see in future fan edits is to make the planets more recognizable from their space establishing shots. To me, when you see that shot it’ll be instantly memorable.

I’ve started my own thread for my various TROS edit ideas; but I thought I’d do a little promotion in here. Here’s my current draft of the ending Tatooine scene. The major edits (besides what TROS:A already does) are the moving of the questioning woman to near the end of the sequence, a minor VFX edit to one of the shots of Rey to make her look sadder, the removal of the lightsaber ignition and the needledrop of Anakin’s theme. I explain things a little more in the other thread.

I bet when Mandolorian season 2 is done and there’s more links to the sequel trilogy (Snoke/Palpatine clones, maybe???), there will be an opportunity to create a better story with TLJ/ROS.

Anakin’s theme sounds super! Since “A new home” theme is gone maybe it should play over the sabers being buried, as a book-end to the story of Anakin.

I really like that concept art Chase Adams. Hopefully something similar could be incorporated into the movie.

A New Home is by far my favorite track from the film and I’d be sad to see it go.

So we have a Death Star 3. Let’s do something interesting with that.

What if instead of just destroying the Hosnian system, Starkiller destroys dozens of planets in one launch? This would explain how the Republic collapsed – they had ships at bases across the galaxy, but Starkiller was able to destroy all of them in a single mass launch.

In addition to Coruscant, Starkiller could also target “symbolic targets” to weaken the Republic’s resolve for fighting. Endor, Corellia, possibly even Tatooine if TROS was edited, all removed in one attack. A Star Wars 9/11.

These planets won’t return anyway and their destruction would rally audiences to start caring about the Resistance - First Order conflict. I may not care about avenging Hosnian Prime, but I do care about avenging the Ewoks!

Starkiller should’ve…literally killed a star. Wiping out all planets in the system.

Kind of strange no one at Disney saw that.

Well, it does. I bet you could probably easily repurpose footage of it killing stars and just… leave it at that. No planet destroying.

Agree! That’s the natural step up. Drink up a star’s power, and launch it at another star to make it go supernova and wipe out its whole system.

I may be a broken record, but that’s a JJ Abrams lack of vision. Disney just let him do whatever he wanted.

Alternatively, you could find a way to make Starkiller Base something else, maybe even combine it with Exegol? Or just take away the planet destroying nonsense.

You could treat this as a 3-in-1 epilogue film, taking the pieces you liked from all three and morphing them together while still using TFA as the backbone. You’re already blending 7-8, maybe bring some of those other scenes from TLJ up to create a new second act instead of the destruction of the Republic. Make it more about stopping the First Order before they can take control rather than fighting them after the fact.

If Starkiller Base is merged with Exegol maybe it could be turned into a kind of Star Forge that would explain how the giant fleet came to be.

I was thinking somewhat of ‘enhancing’ my “Last Jedi, New Emperor” fanedit from a couple of months back by giving Kylo a new Death Star from Palpatine as well as a new fleet. I’d use Rogue One footage for most of it. If someone one wants to, they can blow it up in a ‘Rise of Skywalker’ edit and that can be the basis for Kylo’s ,last stand against Rey.

You could use the trench run Poe makes in TFA, and mix the footage to make it appear he destroys the Death Star.

Yeah, that’d be a good choice. Blend the trench run with the battle of Scariff too.

Maybe also trim down the bit where they’re discussing Starkiller Base so that they’re specifically talking about the Death Star.

That gets tricky to colour match, but it’s definitely possible!

Yeah, I’m hopeless with that kind of thing, would definitely have to leave it to others.

I feel like some of you might get mileage out of this idea. Basically, according to this interpretation, it wasn’t actually Palpatine we saw in RoS, but rather the spirit of the Sith manifesting in the form of Palpatine.

Is there any way to further hint/establish that Starkiller Base is Ilum? I know it’s Canon because of Fallen Order & the TROS VD, but is there a way to make that clearer in the film itself? Like maybe adding Kyber Crystal growths around the forest Rey and Kylo fight in, or some type of giant Kyber Crstyal reactor in the Thermal Oscillator?

Use the Force, Joh Yowza.

Has anybody thought of replacing Supreme Leader Snoke in TFA with Palpatine? The Snoke we meet in TFA doesn’t really align with the one in TLJ, but it matches Palpatine perfectly. The surprise of his reveal on Exegol could be preserved by obscure his face even more than it already is (which is a lot) and his different voice is accounted for with the “I have been every voice you have ever heard inside your head” line. The only issue is its placement, as at this point Palpatine has not yet been discovered. What reason would they have for talking to him?

The other big issue is that the reveal of Snoke, when we meet him in the Throne Room for the first time, is lessened if we don’t see him in those scenes. Especially as he’s talked up as a major threat throughout TFA and the first two acts of TLJ. I think moving the scene where Kylo meets Palpatine earlier helps merge the two characters earlier in the narrative, without getting rid of the sense of threat to the other characters.
