S03E04 - Sphere of Influence - Objectionable

This one loosely follows the prior episode I watched, Trespass. It starts with a trade blockade and its negotiations, and then we get to meet the characters which represent George Lucas and his real kids, so you know you’re in for… no fun whatsoever. There’s a bit of light intrigue in this, but the politics are ultimately super boring, the characters are charmless, and it adds nothing. It has Greedo in it, in another example of how just showing something that exists somewhere else in Star Wars does not equal quality. I’d call this Objectionable but I think you only really cringe if you know it’s George’s actual family. Which you do now. Actually fuck it, I’m changing this to Objectionable, Jabba’s baby has just shown up and I don’t want to have to try to edit this.

As an aside, just looking at the data, it looks like the following things I find most objectionable:

Gungans, in particular Jar Jar
Hutts played for jokes in a way that cheapens their menace
Toydarians
LOL I’M WACKY humour, done most with Jar Jar
LOL I’M DUMB humour, most frequently seen with B1 Battle Droids
Bland alien designs
The worst looking locations
