Who do you think Georgie would cast for the main roles if he filmed eps 4-6 now? Here are my ideas.

how about Hayden as Luke and Natalie as Leia (just kidding)

Leia: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (sharing the role)
Han: Ben Affleck
Obiwan: Ewan with makeup to look older
Grand Moff Tarkin: Ian McKellen

sorry but i think the original people would still be used they played the part so well and i dont think that u could replace them...........

Considering Lucas cast mostly unknowns, it'd be hard to guess who he'd cast now for these roles, but I think he'd stay away from too big a name:

Luke Skywalker: Adam Brody
Leia Organa: Zooey Deschanel

I agree that they were all perfect for their roles, and they really made Star Wars what it is... But if he was making Episodes 4, 5 and 6 TODAY, there is no way he would use those people. 1) Alec Guinness is DEAD. He wouldn't be able to use him. 2) Nobody on earth would know about Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, or Harrison Ford. They only became famous because of the originals. And even if they had become famous without Star Wars, they would all be to old. He wouldn't be casting some 50 year old guy as Han Solo, sorry.

You know that could be an interesting idea. I seriously doubt it would ever happen, but if 4, 5, and 6 were to be remade, especially making sure the plot holes going between the two are ironed out, it may make for some nice movies. Plus it would allow the originals to stand on their own away from the prequels. The first list was funny, but this:

Is actually a pretty damn nice cast minus Sam Jackson. Since he was already Mace, Denzel would probably be a better choice.

^Agree on both counts.

I was also thinking Jamie Foxx, but settled on Sam Jackson, not thinking that DUH, he'd already have a character in Star Wars. Denzel Washington is one of my favorite actors, but I don't he'd be a good fit for the part of Lando.

Leia - natalie Portman if he never did the prequels, Lindsay Lohan otherwise.
Vader - CGI, with James Earl Jones providing the voice
Obi-Wan - Takeshi Kitano if he never did the prequels, Ewan McGregor on makeup otherwise.
Han Solo - Edward Norton
Chewie - CGI
Tarkin - Malcolm McDowell

as horrible as this sounds he'd probalbly have ben affleck or pierce brosnan as han solo and matt damon as luke skywalker. He might even use nathan hamill to play luke. Leia would be played by charlize theron, natalie portman, or Kyiera neightly. Lando played by sam jackson. Obi wan ian mckellan, ian holm, derek jacobi, or patrick stewart. Vader would still be james earl jones, to me the only other choices would be orson welles, or brock peters who are both dead. Dave prowse in the suit not christenson. don't know of any actor who could be tarken, would have to be a really creepy hatchet faced guy. That girl from cheers could be jabba. Boba Fett would have to be played by some badass actor, don't know who.

Sequel Trilogy casting is a whole different topic, but since you brought it up:

Luke, Leia, Han, Lando, Chewebacca, and the droids would obviously have to be played by the original actors. If there were to be force spirits, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen would have to replace Alec Guinnes and Sebastian Shaw. Liam Neeson and Frank Oz could reuturn as Qui-Gon and Yoda if necessary.

As for the rest of the cast:
Mara Jade: Dina Meyer
Jacen Solo: Sean Patrick Flannery (Nice choice!)
Jaina Solo: Claire Danes
Anakin Solo: Jake Lloyd (If he can act as a young adult, sure.)

And just because I think they'd be perfect in the roles:
Grand Admiral Thrawn: Jeremy Irons
Joruus C'Boath: Donald Sutherland
