I found it to be more heartwarming than I expected. I appreciated that accepted a post-TROS storyline while not being afraid to make jokes about TROS itself. The people who work on LEGO SW again prove to be us judging by the variety of prequel/SE/JJ-movie jokes.

This, exactly.

My 7 and 10 year old nephews will love it.

Finally watched the Lego SW Holiday Special, I really did enjoy it. It’s suitably short, and very silly with a simple message. I particularly love the lines that are poking fun at Star Wars in general, like “Stop everyone in a black cape. I know the drill.”

I appreciate Rose being included in something, and it’s nice to see Kelly Marie Tran doing more Star Wars things. Also appreciated the return of that blue musical legend.

Also, the Holiday Special totally retcons Palpatine’s resurrection in TROS. Star Wars is saved!

Retcons it how? All they did was make jokes about how implausible it was.

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

Well, it doesn’t actually happen. Kylo tells Palpatine that he dies when Vader throws him down a reactor shaft, and when that actually happens, he falls all the way into the explosion. I believe the canon explanation for Palptine’s return is that there was a clone body waiting for him on Exegol, and during the fall to his death, he projected his own spirit across the galaxy into that body. Doesn’t happen in the Holiday Special!

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Although you could argue that only happens because Rey intervened so Palpatine had a lot more on his mind, and he just forgot to transfer his consciousness to Exegol.
Maybe this is the time divergence that those “leaks” were talking about.
