This was great, I had such a good time watching this. I could tell when I originally saw the final clone wars episodes that they really tried to supplement Revenge of the Sith and you can really tell in the supercut. It’s almost like restoring a bunch of really cool deleted scenes for a director’s cut. And you can really tell how the Clone Wars tried to match that painting-like quality in the backgrounds and scenery for Revenge of the Sith and the two aesthetics just fit together so well.

The beginning was pretty good, I was a little confused with the decision to start the battle action on Coruscant rather than Sundari. There isn’t really a good spot for a scene break during the Obi-Wan/Anakin flight sequence and I feel like we see the beginning of the Siege but we end up joining the battle of Coruscant in media res so while it may not follow the timeline of events it might flow better?

But once they get on the Invisible Hand and you’re jumping between the two battles it’s SO GOOD. The Mandalore stuff slots in right when the action starts to drag in ROTS and really helps give the sense that there’s more going down as they track down the chancellor and attempt to escape. And during the politicking and tracking down of Maul I really enjoy that you let both the Clone Wars and ROTS breathe and weren’t trying to constantly jump between each story.

The lead up to the Palpatine confrontation is really cool. I’m not sure if it would work better but part of me wants to put Rex and Ahsoka’s conversation after the march on the temple and the order 66 montage. The main reason is the sinister music that plays while they’re moving Maul to his cell leads really well into the sinister music that plays when Anakin is struggling in the council chamber. And while I like having that talk about the friendship between the Clones and the Jedi before Order 66 goes down there’s an awful lot of time between that moment and the actual betrayal so putting it just after the march on the temple might work just as well. And I think the soundtrack might mesh better in that sequence.

The lead up to the final confrontations builds really well and the Clone Wars scenes do a great job at keeping the action rising while ROTS is busy setting up it’s duels. Rex and Ahsoka’s survival sequence finishing up just as the 2 duels are starting was a good choice. The movie goes back and forth pretty quickly at that point and jumping between 3 different fights would’ve been exhausting.

And while scene of Rex and Ahsoka is fine where it is I can’t help but think it might work better as a post-credits scene. The end of the movie is all about building from that tragedy and finding hope in overwhelming darkness and the scene is kind of an outlier in that buildup? It might even go better before or after Padme’s funeral procession? I dunno, I think it just works better thematically. You get the ending filled with hope and then the fanfare during the credits but afterwards you’re left with a nice visual of just how much death went into Palpatine’s machinations. We also get to focus on the tragedy of the clones and how they were pawns as well.

But all those complaints might also just be personal preference. The Clones and the Jedi are my absolute favorite parts of the Star Wars universe so I’m always going to focus heavily on their storylines and get real nitpicky. And in spite of my complaints it really was a great experience. I’m a huge prequels fan so getting the best of the clone wars and the movies mashed up together in a coherent story is a real treat! This is probably going to be my go to choice whenever I rewatch the prequel movies so thank you so much for sharing this work with me and I wish you well on all your future projects.

When I watched the 4 hour supercut of revenge of the Sith I liked how you included the battle of Yerbana, siege of Mandalore/ skirmish aboard the tribunal: the great Jedi purge + battles from revenge of the Sith such as the battle of coruscant, battle of utapau, battle of kashyyk, operation:knight fall, battle of the heroes, skirmish in the senate, palpatine’s speech, mission to mustafar, sense a plot to destroy the Jedi (ROTS/SOM) intertwined, padme’s funeral/ 332nd clones and post credits scene Vader arriving on a snowy planet. I know how all of the events in the timeline has made sense based on its fact which I don’t want to spoil. Overall great work
