Plus getting anyone to do an impression that blends seamlessly will be a tall order at best. Look at how split everyone here is on the Knights of Ren voices, and those don’t have to replicate and work within/around an existing performance.
Yeah. If anyone here remembers Ivan Ortega’s TLJ edit, then they’ll remember what happened when he tried to have someone replace a few of Luke’s lines. It didn’t sound good or blend with the original lines at all. I’m afraid that any attempt by non-professional voice actors to impersonate characters will suffer from similar problems.
And I’ve heard of that AI voice simulator, but from the samples I heard it doesn’t sound like it’s ready yet. It has this sort of uncanny valley effect that makes it weird to listen to.
